For the owners of this traditional, whitewashed Georgian, it was essential that their landscape design accurately reflect the period in which their historical home was built. Careful research guided the development of this pristine retreat full of classical elements, including a custom pergola handcrafted with Spanish cedar and a wall built with reclaimed bricks. We designed the grounds to have a pleasing symmetry, balanced proportions, and very clean lines. But, we also added some unique, sentimental flourishes. We converted this immense, antique sugar kettle from the owner’s hometown of New Orleans into a stunning fountain. Then, for the finishing touches, we planted dwarf boxwood to maintain the view from the screened porch and furnished the front patio with an updated bench and pot arrangement.
